A mezzanine floor is an intermediate floor in a building which is partly open to the double-height ceilinged floor below. It usually does not extend over the whole floor space of the building.

It is an intermediate floor space that is built between two floors or between the floor and the ceiling. A mezzanine floor doubles the usable space of an overhead floor. These floors can be applied to any building space.
